What You Can Save

Reels

Short vertical videos, saved clean in HD.

Photos

Any photo from a public post, in full resolution.

Stories

Stories need a Facebook login to view, so saving them isn't available yet — it's on the roadmap.

Saving a Facebook Live Video

A Live video can only be saved after the broadcast ends — while it's running there is no finished file to fetch. Once the stream ends, the recording usually appears within a few minutes (and stays if the page keeps it). If the broadcaster deleted the recording or set it to Friends-only, there is nothing left to save.
